Shabby Chic Baby Shower

This community has been a little dead recently. Thought I'd liven it up with a post about a party I recently helped out on as the florist/seamstress (for banners and chair decor)/photographer.

The host was Kristeen of Kristeen Labrot Events, a wedding coordinator I work with frequently. She was going for a vintage look with colors of light pink and apple green with accents of blues and yellows....

The milk glass vases I acquired off ebay. And the beautiful olive colored depression glass came from my good friends side yard which she so generously gave to me as a gift.

For the guest of honor chair, I cut 1" strips of fabric from my left over fabric pile at 45 degree angles and tied them to the back of the chair, finishing it off with a beautiful peony.

Kristeen did a fabulous job acquiring things like large gate keys, bird figurines, various bottles etc. She even spray painted a couple pieces she had a robin's egg blue for accents.

Kristeen rented Pink Champagne Lamour linens and Apple Green Lamour napkins and had a custom runner made with bunny damask print by Tula Pink.
I sewed some vintage style fabric banners using left over fabric again from my box o fabric.

Flowers used included Esperance Roses, pink peonies, hellebore, white stock, white mini carnations, billy balls, yellow irises, yellow kangaroo paw, pink spray roses, pink and white ranunculus and succulents.

The favors were baby block shaped cake pops from CAKEGoodness and were displayed on top of the napkins at each place setting.

At the gift table, Kristeen placed her sand blasted manzanita branch that she had left over from her wedding. She added hand made ruffle balls made from ribbon, and hung pink pacifiers.

Kristeen also made the tags that were on the cake pops and the framed sign asking guests to “Please Write a Love Note to Baby G.” The guest book was a copy of Disney’s Cinderella as the mom-to-be was Cinderella at Walt Disney World for several years!

The menu consisted of: Mini Pigs in a Blanket, Caprese Skewers, Veggie/Fruit Platter, Brownie Bites, Lemon Cakes, Almond Tea Cakes, Fruit Infused Water, Peach Champagne Punch, and a Mocktail version of the punch.

And for activities: They played the “My Water Broke” game and a “Celebrity Baby Name Game” that Kristeen designed.

There were even a few left over flowers so I could take them home and play with some arrangements!
